Biography

Deborah was born 24 July 1721, East Haddam, Hartford County, Connecticut the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Rowley) Olmsted.

Deborah married James Gates (1721-1805) and they had five children:

Research Note

1. The Town of East Haddam was in Hartford County prior to the erection of Middlesex County in 1785
2. Samuel 3 and 4 are most likely the same person; need to resolve same birth date (source research needed). The 1912 Olmsted genealogy only lists one Samuel, birth date only and not carried forward.
