name recalls gens of Claudii Pompeiani[1] and Calpurnii [2] ... but Pompeia's father was from Nimes, and said to be of the new aristocracy (which contradicts the idea he could be a member of the old nobility of these gens. Note that the Pisos belonged to the Calpernii).
Origins
from Nemausus (Nimes) in Gallia Narbonensis[3] (Gaul)[4][5]
I try to clean up the Roman ancestors as much as possible. I didn't enter any of them originally, just adopted the ones that were 'related' though I understand that's mostly unproven. The only caveats are that many family members had the same names for many generations, there are many duplicates out there which may result in odd dates and relationships, the same person often went by many different names and titles (I use the given Latin name when possible), and dates can be very difficult because Wikitree does not allow BC dates. By all means add whatever additional source information you have, especially WikiPedia links, and fix any incorrect information and relationships (mostly a result of previous merges). I always believe the dates and relationships posted on that site.
Ah, good! Maybe we'll see what Bob chimes in with and then we can get that done. I posted in the G2G about a project for Roman Emperors and their families.I think this is a good example of why it might be nice to have one. Would you be interested?
I'd say the parents listed on WikiPedia should be listed as her parents here with a note in the bio that there is a parental dispute and links to the parents currently connected to her. If you want to download her profile from Geni that might be good.
