Biography

William Perry Scott was reportedly born at Machias, Maine, 3 Dec 1774, [1] the son of John Scott and Frances Thompson; [2] [3] died at Honeydale (Saint David), New Brunswick, after 13 Apr 1849, when he executed Charlotte Co New Brunswick deed V:57-58, and probably bef 1851, when he is not found in the census of that year. [3]

He married at All Saints Church, Saint Andrews, New Brunswick, 12 Aug 1797, Elizabeth McLaughlin, [3] born at Francestown, New Hampshire, 16 May 1775, the daughter of Thomas McLaughlin and Joanna Searles. She died, probably at Saint David, after 21 Aug 1834, when she cosigned Charlotte Co New Brunswick deed O:79-80, and probably before Apr 1849, when she did not cosign Charlotte Co deed V:57-58. [3]

If Maine Families in 1790, Vol. 9, p. 443 is correct, then the FindAGrave memorial cited below must be in error. William Perry Scott's name is not found in the St. David Ridge Cemetery records found at the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick.
