Tabitha Tinsley (Spencer) Woods was born on 9 Feb 1781 in Anderson, Pendleton, South Carolina, United States. Her parents were Moses Spencer (1746 - 1826) and Elizabeth (Tinsley) Spencer (~1763 - 1849).

"Tabitha Spencer was married to John Richie/Richey and had several children. They divorced in Feb. 1820,a divorce granted by the Kentucky Legislature. Her husband claimed she was unfaithful with another(George Woods).She and George relocated to Grant county, Arkansas. She died there circa 1860."

"John Richie died prior to 1819. Tabitha Richie is found on the 1819 tax list and on the 1820 census in Hart County, Kentucky. She moved to Fayette County, TN with her sons in the early 1820's.
