For this Katherine-

Findagrave ID#: 183896702 https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/183896702/katherine-sutton

  • This memorial for John Sutton that married Katherine has a decently concise biography on his findagrave memorial page I'm listing here as well but will spare the space for his sources unless asked. I hope this helps as it appears there are a lot of people asking the same questions and no reasoning has been given otherwise.

I have same question as to why John Sutton (Sutton-422) is not listed as Katherine Stafford (Stafford-227) husband, Katherine not listed as the mother of John Sutton (Sutton-421)?

I went ahead and posted sources as no one has responded and this page isn't sourced nor protected...but not being pre-1500 certified we can't add anything. Are you hoping to connect them with son John Sutton IV as well? I was thinking maybe we should all add the events/person(s) to be considered in the event the husband is finally connected. I could understand the confusion with the 5 John de Sutton men in succession but they all have clearly marked dates and very elaborate memorials, tombs, catacombs etc alon with documentation. If you think I should leave more sources I welcome your advice- I didn't want to add too many but also wanted to leave more than ancestry (as not all of us can access without paying renewal fees and findagave isn't a primary source...one of the two books has the listing for birth records and either a marriage license or proclamation) Thanks for the support! I have similar if not identical questions as the two below so hopefully someone can answer me and if not I will move it to the G2G forum to clear the confusion. Thanks for any assistance! Becky Elizabeth

Has any progress been made regarding why John Sutton (Sutton-422) is not listed as Katherine Stafford (Stafford-227) husband and as the mother of John Sutton (Sutton-421)? I do not know how to “move this issue to the G2G forum to clear the confusion”. Please let me know how?

Say why is John Sutton (Sutton-422) not listed as Katherine Stafford (Stafford-227) husband, Katherine not listed as the mother of John Sutton (Sutton-421)? both Carl Boyer (Medieval English ancestors of Robert Abell : who died in Rehoboth, Plymouth Colony, 20 June 1663 : with English ancestral lines of other colonial Americans) and Gary Boyd Roberts (The Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants. Baltimore, MD, USA: Genealogical Publishing Co., 2004.) has her identified as such.

Baltimore, MD, USA: Genealogical Publishing Co., 2004.) have Katherine Stafford (Stafford-227) as the mother of John Sutton (1361-1395) (Sutton-421), son of John Sutton (1338-1370) (Sutton-422). Is this correct or is their sources suspect? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your help
