She was heiress to one third of the baronies of Tattersall and Old Buckenham.[1]
Emma married Adam de Cailly. Their son Thomas was said to be 24 and more in 1306-7, pointing to a marriage date of before 1382.[2][3] (Douglas Richardson gives a marriage date of before 1384.[4]) They had two children:
In 29 Henry VI (which began 1 September 1450) at Essex, John Knyvet, of Hamerton, Armiger, sued Thomas Freman for the manor of Little Waltham, which Robert Tateshale had given to Adam, son of Osbert Cayly, in frank marriage with Emma, his sister. This descent was given in the plea:[5]

Emma was connected to the wrong generation of Robert de Tattershall, as her father. Richardson says Emma's mother was Nicola Grey [6], which fits chronologically.
Emma's birthdate is unsourced. Her son and heir Thomas was born in about 1282, which suggests that the currently-shown birth year of 1246 may well be too early.
