"Hilderic (523–530) had little interest in war, and left it to a family member, Hoamer. ... Hoamer defeated by Moors, then Arian faction in royal family revolted, raising banner of national Arianism, and his cousin Gelimer (530–533) became king. While Royaume Europe cites Huneric as Hoamar's father, as does WT, [2] making Hilderic his brother, Wikipedia refers to him as Hilderic's nephew and brother of Euagees (Evagus, Hoageis), who was imprisoned with him and Hilderic by Gelimer. [4] A second source, also refers to him, as well as his brother, as Hilderic's nephews. [8] Huneric supposedly had only one son (Hilderic) with his second wife, Eudoxia, [5] whom he married around 0455, [6] which would appear to preclude this possibility, but he may have had other children with his first wife, daughter of Theoderic I, King of the Visigoths, whom he married around 0429 and repudiated (after mutilating her), in 0442. [6] If they had children (unconfirmed), their grandchildren from these children would have been nieces and nephews of Hilderic, with Hoamer, possibly among them. Another possibility, given in a user-submitted newsgroup, is that Hoamer and Euagees were children, not grandchildren, of Huneric and his Visigoth wife, [5] making Huneric Hoamer's father and Hilderic his half-brother. The birth dates that appear for Hoamer (480 acc WT, Royaume Europe), however, are in conflict with this possibility because Huneric was married to Eudoxia at that time.

  • Hoamer was nephew of Hilderic, so can't be son of Huneric. There's a missing generation. The kingdom shatters in this generation with Gelimer, so this is important.
  • We may want to research the father of Gelimer as may be brothers or cousins with this Hoamer. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelimer or work backwards from Thrasamund and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunthamund who inherited after the fratricides?
  • "Achilles" is inappropriate nickname, anachronistic and some kind of accident here. These are Vandals in North Africa in the Roman era, and have nothing to do with ancient Greece. Will the profile manager please remove it?
  • Vandals is not a LNAB. This tribe's family dynasty name is Hasdingi e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasdingi
  • The notional birthplace of Carthage (but in Spanish, with broken syntax) should be corrected to English (as Wikitree default) or their language. Spanish is inappropriate for the Vandals, being a Slav-Germanic tribe who spoke a kind of German. They were still fighting there as allies with the Romans at the end.
  • For curious readers, see also: Wandali, Wendilenses via Saxons; Vendill via Old Norse, and Wend/Wendelas via Old English; all from Proto-Germanic *Wanđilaz meaning perhaps to twist/turn/wind, which may come from Denmark twisty river/channel thru islands (so like: oxbow today, or perhaps not... we don't know for sure). The Wends are prolly elsewhere here on Wikitree because of various Pomeranians and Sorbs etc, and some Vikings like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olaf_Tryggvason who married a non-Vandal Wend centuries later. It would be a fun project for a project team to spiff up the Vandals. They're amazing.

Vandals-1 and Of the Vandals-21 appear to represent the same person because: These two brothers appear to be the same person.
