Peter Cowen (indexed as Cowing), age over 45, is recorded in 1820, Simpson County, Kentucky Federal Census: 1 male [Unknown] 10-16 yrs; 1 male [Unknown] 18-26 yrs 1 male [Peter] over 45; 5 females [Margaret, Ann, Sarah, Nancy, Jenney] 1-10 yrs, 1 female [Elizabeth] 10-16 yrs; 1 female [Polly] 26 -45 yrs and 1 female [Unknown] over 45

Who was the male 10-16 yrs; male 16-26; female over 45? Possibly Mary (Polly's mother and siblings?) It is interesting that on the census it can be seen that the recording of Peter's last name was tampered. Originally, it was written "Peter Cowan." Another handwriting wrote over the a and changed the writing to "Cowing."
