Search for Dora HARVEY nee MARRIS/JEANS

Inspired by a query by Tyne Crow [Crow-6010] about Nora Harvey appearing in the above photo, Rodney King stated he first searched for Dora’s marriage, before trying to find any Electoral Roll records. The marriage was easy and gave me her husband’s name which Tyne did not record.

Registration Number Bride's Given Name(s) Bride's Family Name Groom's Given Name(s) Groom's Family Name

1910/6328 Dora Ann Jeans Marris Edward Harvey

Then I decided to look for her birth date to get an idea of age. That was easy too:

Registration Number Family Name Given Name(s) Mother's Given Name(s) Father's Given Name(s)

1888/17098 Marris Dora Ann Jeanes Ellen NR

How utterly fascinating .. .. .. the father was not recorded, yet Dora’s registered name – and that of her marriage – included his name of Jeans/Jeanes as a “first name”.

Using Ancestry Electoral Roll records, I could not find any early record for Dora (as Marris or Harvey) but her first entry showed Dora and Edward in 1919:

And they lived at the same address for 50 years until 1969 !!:

This same photo on the Puke Ariki site ( https://collection.pukeariki.com/objects/91211/the-king-family ) has some annotations labelling names. I am a descendant of Dora Harvey who is pictured in this photo, so I'd been keen to know if you or anyone you know might know anything about her connection to the family.
