Using the information from Rufus Putnham's 1785 Survey of the Maine Coast, gives the families of Sans Standley and John Standley, with a settlement date of 1767 at the Cranberry Isles. This information along with the two maps indicates the location of Sans Stanley at Dead Man's Point, Great Cranberry Island and probable location of John Standley at Sand Beach, Little Cranberry Island.

Noted:The other new settlement at Great Cranberry Island is at Rich's Point. Settlement 1767 by Jonathan Rich, John Standley Jr.'s father-in- law, who later resided at Bass Harbor, Maine. Adrian Stanley_22 June 2015
