Biography

Simeon Abel was born on February 28, 1747 in Lebanon, Windham, Connecticut Colony, son of Simon Abell (1721 - 1778) and Parnel (Willes) Abell (~1722 - 1808). [1]


Simon married Rachel Partridge Brewster on March 1, 1773, at Goshen Congregational Church of Lebanon, Connecticut. [2]


On his tombstone, the inscription reads:

"This stone designates the grave in which repose the remains of Capt. Simon Abell, as a husband & father, friend & neighbor as a man of integrity he was justly esteemed by all who knew him."

Abell-350 and Abel-200 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same individuals. There is dispute over the last name, but it is widely accepted that Abell is correct. the other will be added as an alternate.
