Biography

Children (born in Enkhuizen): Feijnte (Dec 20 1629), Trijn (Nov 23 1634 – father listed as Reijert Barents; married Freeck Everts). There’s a pretty good chance they moved here from elsewhere between 1625 and 1629 – there’s no marriage record in Enkhuizen, and they would probably had children before Feijnte since it isn’t either of their fathers’ names.

If they came from Enkhuizen: Reijer (Reinder) was a fairly common name in Enkhuizen, as was Albert. There were 3 Reijnders born at about the right time to be our Reijer Alberts: Nov 24 1596 to Albert Dirxz & Geert Sibbes: Reijnst Witness Trontgen Sibbes; May 22 1605 to Alert Reijers & Lui Dinges (witness Marij Reijers); March 1603 to Albert Jansz & Aef Gerrits (witness Albert Dardens), also Reijnder (1602). The people who make the most sense to be Suster’s parents include the only IJf I could find in Enkhuizen at this time: Yff Jacobsz & Ytgen Cornelis (the only baptism found was for Wolmoet in 1605).

In Trijn's baptism record, her father's name is Reijner Barentsz. Up to one twentieth of the records have some kind of error in them; it's hard to know whether Reijer's father was Albert or Barent.

One of them must have had a father or grandfather named Feijnte, which is a very rare name.

The only Feijnte besides their son that I found in Enkhuizen baptism records were a Feijnte Jans having children between 1590 and 1602. Of course, it takes a very long time to sift through these baptism records as there were usually between 150 and 350 children baptized there each year. The only other person named Feijnte that I could find anywhere (the name is that rare) also lived in Enkhuizen. I suspect they are somehow related to Suster. Feijnte Pietersz Rijchout was born around 1550 in Enkhuizen, married tgo Immetgen Henricxsr Karreman. Children: Wendelmoet Venters Rijckhout (born around 1578, married Mattheus Corsz Heemskerk), Geertje (born in Goes), Pieter (died around 1618), Diver. The Wolmoet and Wendelmoet also show a possible connection here.[1]
