Biography

Edward was born in 1886 on the family farm in Barton Township in Worth County, Iowa near Carpenter. He was the second born child and eldest son of Lars Leonard Allanson and Torborg Eide. He grew up in the Carpenter area and studied at xxx (to confirm). He started working as a court stenographer in Waukon, IA, but then pursued a long career in banking, first as a cashier in Waukon and then later in Pennsylvania. He married Beth Crawford in Waukon on 13 Jun 1912. They stayed first in Waukon, raising two children together, and in the early 1920s moved to Glenside, Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia. Edward eventually became a bank examiner. His wife passed away in 1943. He died at home in Glenside of heart disease in 1961 and is buried with his wife in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa
