Thursday morning, June 6, at 4:40 o’clock occurred the death of Mrs. Cora Allen Thorpe at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen on Ray street. Mrs Thorpe was born in Clarendon in 1889, where she spent the most of her life up to her marriage to Mr. Thorpe in 1910.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Thorpe moved to Byron where she lived until a few months ago, when, on account of illness, she moved to her parents’ home. Besides her husband, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen, of this village, four sisters, Mrs. William Inman and Mrs. Thomas Butcher, of Clarendon, Mrs. Ray Darch of Byron and Miss Sarah Allen of Holley; three brothers, Edwin I. of Clarendon, and Roy and John of Holley. The funeral was held from the home of her father, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Resident of North Byron Died at Her Parents Home in Holley
North Byron, June 7-Mrs. Cora Allen Thorpe, wife of Kirk Thorpe of North Byron, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen of Holley, at 4 o’clock yesterday morning from tuberculosis, aged 23 years.
Mrs. Thorpe had been in failing health, but was taken seriously ill while visiting her parents last December and had not been able to return to her home at this place. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by four sisters and three brothers. Two of her sisters, Mrs. Ray Darch and Mrs. Thomas Butcher, live at North Byron.
The funeral will be held from the home of Mrs. Thorpe’s parents at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. The interment will be in Holley.
