William Allison was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.
William Herbert Allison was born on November 4, 1823 in White, Tennessee, United States, son of Joseph Clayton Allison (1799–1886) and Asenath Cynthia Stone (1802–~1862).
William (20) married Elizabeth Peggy Clark (17) (born about 1826) [1]
In the 1850 census William (age 26) was in Jackson, Tennessee, United States.[2] William Alison 26, Elizabeth Alison 20, Reuben Alison 1, Abraham Alison 7 months.
In the 1870 census W (age 46) was the head of household in Putnam, Tennessee, United States.[3] W H Allison 46, Elizabeth Allison 40, Glatha J Allison 16, Carter Allison 14, Russell C Allison 13, Dober T Allison 10, Luther G Allison 6, Sherman Allison 3, James S Allison 1.
William died on August 29, 1879 in Putnam, Tennessee, aged 55. He was buried in Allison Cemetery, Baxter, Tennessee.[4]
