Rachel Amos was born 29 March 1907 in Kadina, South Australia. She was the daughter of John Amos and Rachel Clayton. [1]
She was baptised 5 March 1911 at the Wallaroo Anglican Church, the same day as her brother George. [2]
Registered as Rachel Gertrude Amos, she attended Sturt Street School [3][4]
She married Maxwell Thomas Jarvis on 23 June 1928 at St Patricks Church, Adelaide. [5]
AMOS - JARVIS. The marriage of Gertie, youngest daughter of Mrs. R. and the late J. Amos, of Adelaide, to Maxwell, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Jarvis, of Smithfield, will be celebrated at St. Patricks Church, Grote street, on Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. Friends and relatives cordially invited to ceremony. No reception.[6]
Rachel and her son were injured when their car collided with a truck at the corner of Hutt street and Glen Osmond road in 1938, reported in The Advertiser 1 Feb 1938. [7]
Rachel and Maxwell Jarvis were divorced in 1946. [8]
Gert passed away age 93 and was buried in Enfield Memorial Park with her husband second husband, William Charles Tilly. [9][10]
