Biography
Birth date of 1485 is a guess, based on son's marriage in about 1521/2.
Emily wrote her will on 1 June [1545?], and it was proved on 9 May 1546. Em Carter, widow, of Kempston, made 1 June pr. 9 May 1546 [sic]. Burial in the churchyard of All Hallowes in Kempston. To the high altar in Kempston church for tithes forgotten 20d.. To John Wright of Bedford a year old bullock. To Elene's children a weaning calf to both. To William Carter's eldest daughter a platter, a dish and a candlestick. Residue to daughter Elen sole executrix. Witnesses sir John Dewe vicar of Kempston, John Fox, John Redwell.[1]
