Biography

Richard appears to have been the eldest son of Richard and Alice (Ashton) who were charged with fornication on 24 October 1666 at the General Court in Newport, Rhode Island. His parents were probably married soon after.

Marriage 1 Mary WOODWARD, bc 1680 Torrey indicated the year of marriage is questionable. Son Joseph's birth in 1700 would make 1698/9 more likely.
