Research Notes

There are no Aspland's in Swaffham, Norfolk prior to James' marriage to Susan Rowe in 1811.

The 1861 census suggests that James might have been born in London, but a profession in Tin doesn't really link to London very well. there are Asplands in Cornwall though and Cornwall is well known for Tin Mining - so might be an option for further research
