Biography

Joseph was the son of Joseph and Mary Reed Atwood. Joseph married his first wife, Mrs. Joseph Woods (maiden name unknown), about 1728 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts Colony.

Sarah Haskell was Joseph's second wife, but only for a short time. On January 17, 1754, Joseph Atwood married Elizabeth Carpenter in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts Colony.
