Dr. Carl Atwood was appointed Professor of Forest Entomology at the University of Toronto in 1946 and retired in 1972. The Carl E. Atwood Graduate Award in Zoology at the University of Toronto was established in his honour.[1]
Born in 1906 in Clyde River, Shelburne, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Herbert Atwood and Florence McGowan.[2][3] He is the father of author Margaret Atwood.
