Sherwood appears on the 1799 Duanesburg, Albany, New York, Tax Assessment Rolls of Real and Personal Estates alongside Amos AVERY. The record suggests that they live on a farm and brought forward 528. 48. The 1800 assessment year suggests that Sherwood AVERY and his brothers brought forward 528, 68, and 1, 26 to be paid. [3] Note: I have not been able to locate Sherwood or Amos in 1801.

Sherwood AVERY appears on the 1800 US Census in Duanesburgh County, Albany, New York. Living in the household is one male (over 45), two males between ten and sixteen years of age, and three males under nineteen. Women living in the household included four females under ten years of age, two females between ten and sixteen years of age, and one female between the ages of twenty-six to forty-five years of age.[4]

Sherwood AVERY is still living in Leeds and Landsdowne (rear) Township. Also living in the household is Dilla, Jesse, and Mine (Nehemiah?).[9]
1813 Canada Census
Sherwood was shown as male 50-60 years of age in the 1813 census for Lansdowne (rear) Township in Leeds County. He does not appear in subsequent census records there.
