Biography

Hannah Baines, daughter of Joseph Baines was born at Hutton Conyers in Yorkshire about 1836. She was baptised at Sharow by Ripon on the 14th of February. ^[1] Joseph was an agricultural labourer able to support his family with his wife having to work. ^[2]

Hannah was a witness at the Wedding of her sister, Mary, to Joseph Simpson at St Peter in Leeds on 5 October 1852. ^[3]

When Hannah married it was back home in 1858 to George Fisher who came from Lincolnshire, ^[4] an agricultural labourer like her father with whom the couple lived. ^[5]

In 1871 George had become listed as the head of the household although her 83 year of father was still a member of the family. Another daughter, Laura, had been born. ^[6]

Hannah died in 1889 aged 53.^[7]
