Biography

Alice was born Alice Maude Baker in Dublin, South Australia on 12 July 1882. She was the youngest daughter of George Baker and Alice Anna Badman^[1].

She married John Hemsley Franks at her parents' home in Narrung on 5 September 1908^[2]. They had 4 children:

• Ivy Alice Hancock Franks (1909)
• Thelma Mavis Franks (1912)
• Edna Maud Franks (1914)
• Hemsley George Cartner Franks (1921)

She passed away in Port Pirie on the 21 May 1958 aged 75^[3] and is buried in the Port Pirie cemetery^[4].

Alice's middle name was spelled Maude on her birth record and Maud on her marriage & death records so I have used Maud.
