James Campbell Baker was born on January 8, 1848, in Washington, Kentucky, his father, William E. Baker and his mother, Rosa Ann Campbell. He married Susan E. Milburn on September 29, 1868, in Washington, Kentucky. He died on August 27, 1928 at home, Hobart, Kiowa, Oklahoma. James is buried in Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma.
