Francis was the fourth of 11 children in the family of Herbert and Annetta Potter Baldwin.[1] The family moved to Dilworth, Minnesota by the time Francis was 4.[2]He grew up and attended school in Dilworth.[3][4]
Francis married Lorraine Zerwas before 1947. [5] They moved to Washington some time before 1954, where their son Paul Douglas lived only a few days.[6]They are the parents of four other sons and four daughters.[7]
Francis died at age 74[8] and is buried in Mother Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Vancouver, Washington.[9]
