Research Notes

  • Anna Baldwin apparently died during or after the 17 Jul 1769 birth of son Joseph. She either died in Westminster or perhaps they traveled to Shelburne Falls.
  • Anna's death record has not been discovered. The genealogical text titled "A Merrill Mrmory" suggests that Anna's husband, Nathaniel Merrill had remarried. Asa Merrill, bap. 26 Apr 1779, is the first child listed in Nathaniel's second marriage. Anna's last known child, Joseph, was born in Westminster on 17 July 1769. We have Joseph's birth record in Westminster marked (dup), This suggests Anna died perhaps in Westminster between 1769 and perhaps 1777. Nathaniel served, according to records, in the military in 1777.
