Francis was baptised 7 Oct 1831 in Lockington, Leicestershire, England^[1]. He was the son of John Balguy and Barbara St. John.

He married Caroline Georgiana Hawkesworth on 22 May 1858 in Weymouth, Dorset, England^[2]. They had issue:

• Francis Noel Balguy (1860–1896)
• Charles St John Eden Balguy (1863–1897)

He passed away in 1863 in Kensington, London^[3].
