Biography
Elizabeth Ball was born on 20 Jan 1803 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.[1]
She married William Adams on 01 Feb 1821 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.[2] Together they had at least the following children:[3][4][5]
In 1841 she moved with her family to Wayne County, Ohio.[6] The following year, they moved to Plymouth, Richland County, Ohio.[6] At the time of the 1850 Census, they were still living in Plymouth. Her husband was working as a Lutheran Minister.[5] They were still living there in 1860, when her husband was working as both a minister and a farmer.[7]
In 1863 they moved to Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio, where she would live for the remainder of her life.[6] At the time of the 1870 Census, they was living next door to their son, Newton, in Findlay. Her husband was working as a minister for the Church of God.[8] Their daughter, Sarah, was living in their home. For approximately the last ten years of her life she was quite ill, and her daughter worked as her caretaker.[1]
Her husband passed away on 07 May 1879 at their home on Washington Street in Findlay.[9][6] He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio.[10]
At the time of the 1880 Census, she was living with her daughter and caretaker, Sarah, at her home in Findlay. Laura Tarr, likely her daughter Mary's sister-in-law, and a nephew, Henry C. Tarr, were living in the household.[11]
She passed away the next year on 30 Nov 1880 at her home on Washington Street in Findlay.[1] She was buried beside her husband, William, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio.[12]
