Mrs. Horndt Services Held
Funeral services were held at the family residence and at St. John's Lutheran church in Shaws Bend Saturday morning for Mrs. Annie Horndt who died Thursday at a La Grange hospital after having been ill for many months. Burial was in Brune's cemetery with Rev. G. Wolf officiating. Untermeyer Bros. were in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Horndt was born in Germany on July 20, 1892, coming to this country with her parents when she was a small child. She was a daughter of William and Lena Ahlgrim Balzer. On Nov. 29, 1921, she was married to Paul Horndt. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Clarence, recently discharged from the army, and Marvin; two sisters, Mrs. Ewald Kansteiner and Mrs. Fred Chollett, Columbus, and seven brothers, Herman, Rudolph, Fritz and Charlie, Columbus; Paul and Willie, Hallettsville, and Elo, Navasota.
Pallbearers were Herman Brune, Joe Stancik, Harry Hlinsky, Willie Tietschert, W. A. Struss and Henry Fuchs.
