Asa J. Bartee was born about 1788 in Kentucky, son of John Bartee and Dicey Estes (about 1748–before 1827).
Asa (24) married Nancy Elizabeth Leveridge (19) (born about 1793 in Garrard County, KY) on 25 January 1813 in Garrard County, KY.[1] Their known children were:
- William Bartee (28 August 1822 – 14 January 1910) .
- Sarah Bartee (about 1825 – unknown) .
- Nancy Ellen Bartee (19 September 1833 – 23 February 1921)
Asa died in February 1836, aged about 47.[2]
