George Bartie was born in Lincolnshire, England.

George and his brother William were baptised in Fosdyke, Lincolnshire, England in 1788. They are the sons of Elizabeth and William Barty[1][2] George married Rebecca Wanty in 1807[3] He and his wife lived in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England, United Kingdom with their children John (1810),[4] Ann (1813),[5][6] George (1816-1821),[7][8] James (1820-1821),[9][10] and Rebecca (1822).[11][12][13] His daughter Rebecca Bartie married Joseph Wiles in 1848.[14] In 1851 he is cited as a "widower". [15] George passed away at Holbeach, Lincolnshire in 1852.[16]
