Biography

Mary was born in 1740. She was the daughter of Richard Bartlett and Sarah Talbot. It is unknown at present if Mary married. The indications are that she was one of the three children of Richard and Sarah Bartlett who survived to adulthood. Further research is needed. There was a Mary Bartlett who married a William White in Boston Oct 15, 1772 but the church record also includes a baptism of a Mary Bartlett March 3, 1750, daughter of Roger and Anna Bartlett, suggesting to me that this is not the same Mary Bartlett. There was also a Miss Mary Bartlett who died Dec 20, 1800, age 59, which is close in age but the cemetery is at Shirley Center in northern Massachusetts, quite a distance from Dighton in the south which is south of Taunton. For these reasons I have left Mary Bartlett's profile without either addition.
