Biography
Cynthia Bays was an Appalachian.
Cynthia was born about 1821 in Russell County, Virginia. In the 1850 census, Cynthia (age 29) was in Russell County, living with her three children and her mother Rebecca Ruth (Roberts) Bays.[1]
In the 1860 census, Cyntha (age 39) was in Russell, Virginia. Also in the home were her four children and her mother. Cyntha was a Seamstress with personal assets valued at $75. She could not read and write.[2]
She passed away about 1869. [3]
