Ales was the daughter of Edward Bealing and Alice Trethowan. She was born at Penryn, Cornwall on 7 May (Quaker 3rd month) 1683. Her first name is spelt Ales in the Quaker birth record.[1][2]
On 25 June (Quaker 4th month) 1711 Alice married Walter Stephens, son of John, at Kea Quaker Meeting House, Cornwall. Her first name is spelt Alice in the Quaker marriage record.[3][4]
