Biography

Flora was born 3 Jan 1883 in Michigan. She was the daughter of Fred W Beals and Lucy A Hodger. ^[1]

In 1894 she was living in Climax, Kalamazoo, Michigan.^[2] The household included Fredrick Beals age 33 wife Lucy A Beals age 31, son Don Beals age 12, daughter Flora Beals age 10, son Frank Beals age 8, and son Earl Beals age 6.

Olin R Bates and Flora Beals were married 19 Apr 1905 in Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan.^[3]

In 1910 she was living in Climax, Kalamazoo, Michigan.^[4] The household included Olin R Bates age 30 born in Ohio, wife Flora N Bates age 27 born in Michigan, son Orson G Bates age 3 born in Michigan, boarder Elsie Boehmer age 24 born in Michigan and boarder Mabel Aldrich age 21 born in Michigan. Olin was a doctor in private practice. Elsie was a public school teacher. Mabel was a milliner in a retail shop.

She died from Bright's Disease on 31 Dec 1916 in Climax, Kalamazoo, Michigan.^[5][1]

She is buried in Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.^[6]
