Maria Becker first married on 07 Jan 1808 in Walsingham Twp, Norfolk County, Ontario, Upper Canada to Matthias Steel (1781-1840).
Maria, wife of Matthias Steel relinquished her rights of dower on the easternmost part of Sovereign's Mill, Townsend.
By 1825 Maria had married secondly to Tobias Layman.
