Ann, daughter of Joseph Belt and Hester Beall,[1] was born about 1708 at Prince George's County, Maryland, and died before 1728 when her husband married again.
She married Thomas CLAGETT III, son of Capt. Thomas CLAGETT Jr and Mary KEENE, in Mar 1724 at Prince George's County, MD; one child (surname CLAGETT):[2][3]
Thomas - b. c1726; died childless
Although the will of her father Joseph Belt dated 14 Jun 1761 named several children and grandchildren, neither Ann nor any grandchildren named Clagett were mentioned.[2][4]
Research Notes
Records show that it was a different Ann (Ann Wheeler) who married first Thomas Fogg, second Thomas Clagett, third Meredith Davis, and fourth Ignatius Perry.
The will of Capt. Roger WHEELER dated 12 Dec 1723 at Calvert County, MD, mentioned daughter Ann.[5]
The will of Thomas Fogg left his entire estate to wife Ann.[6]
A record dated 30 Oct 1730 said that "Thos. Clagett, Jr., who intermarried with a certain Mrs. Ann Fogg, widow and executrix of Capt. Thomas Fogg late of Calvert County, Mariner."[7]
The will of Meredith DAVIS Sr dated 5 Sep 1751 mentioned his wife Anne Davis, son Charles Davis, son Meredith Davis, and Postumous Clagett.[8]
The will of Ignatius PERRY, dated 14 Oct 1760, left 1/3 of his personal estate to wife Anne Perry.[9]
The will of Ann Perry named daughter Anne (Fogg) Warman, son Henry Clagett, daughter Sarah (Clagett) Davis, and son Posthumous Clagett.[9]

Belt-1854 and Belt-30 appear to represent the same person because: Argh, once again wikitree does not find a duplicate. Sorry about this. Please merge mine away! Jane
Belt-1854 and Belt-30 do not represent the same person because: Actually, Belt-1854 should be merged with Ann (Wheeler) Perry (abt.1705-abt.1763), not Belt-30. I'll initiated a merge for them.
Belt-570 and Belt-30 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same father (a merge was suggested for their fathers). Joseph Belt's daughter Ann married Thomas Clagett, but not Thomas Fogg, Meredith Davis, or Ignatius Perry. Ann must have died soon after her marriage to Thomas Clagett because he married Ann (Wheeler) Fogg about 1728. Careful reading of the wills of those individuals prove that it was Ann Wheeler-9605 who married those four men. Please merge Belt-570 into Belt-30. Thank you.
Belt-1009 and Belt-570 do not represent the same person because: Since there is only a birth year for Ann Belt (Belt-570) and NO locations or any family at all, that profile should be totally deleted.
Wikitree never deletes/removes records. They need to be merged to remove the one with no info & it is also an orphaned record. Just trying to get the Belt's on wikitree cleaned up.
