Research Notes
Excerpt from: History of My Bennett Ancestors: by Mrs. R. T. Messer (Herma Jarrett)
Martha Bennett became the wife of Dock Rogers, son of Matthew Rogers. They remained at the old Rogers homeplace. Aunt Martha died there about 1902. Uncle Dock remarried and reared one son by his second wife, Hugh Rogers. He died in his 100th year. Aunt Martha left two children, Elizabeth (Bobbie) and Grover. Bobbie married Robert Brown, son of Sam Brown. After his death she married Thomas Rhea. She is now (Feb 1956) a widow living in Canton with her daughter, Mrs. Nancy Brown Styles. Grover Rogers married Fanny Redmond, daughter of Steve Redmond. He died at Clyde several years ago. It seems to me that he left three sons and two daughters. One of his sons, Jerry Rogers, is now our Representative in the State Legislature.
