Biography
Pierre Benoit is a descendant of an Acadian
Jean Baptiste, son of Pierre Benoit and Josephte Benoit, was born 17 Mar 1807 and baptized the following day in the parish of Sainte-Marguerite-de-Blairfindie, L'Acadie, Bas-Canada. His godparents were Jean Baptiste Benoit and Magdeleine Mailliot. [1]
Pierre Benoit, son of the late Pierre Benoit and the late Josephte Benoit, and Isabelle Gervais, minor daughter of Jean Baptiste Gervais and the late Isabelle Bonneau, were married 9 Oct 1832 in the parish of Saint-Athanase, Bas-Canada. Present at the marriage were Jean Baptiste Gervais father of the bride, Isaac Gervais brother of the bride and Jean Baptiste Benoit brother of the groom. [2]

Research Notes
- Pierre Benoit and Josephte Benoit had two sons baptized Jean Baptiste, the other one being Jean Baptiste Benoit born 1803 who married Emilie Labrie.
- There is only one baptismal record for Pierre Benoit, son of Pierre Benoit and Josephte Benoit who was born in 1803 and later died in 1835. He could not have been married to Isabelle Gervais as this couple had a son in 1838.
- This Pierre Benoit was an adult at marriage (born before 1812), he is the second son baptized Jean Baptiste.
