James Berry is a part of US Black heritage.

James C.[1] Berry was born about 1841-1843[1] in Pennsylvania[1]. He was the child of Ann M. and George Berry, and the brother of Civil War veteran Joseph Smith Barry of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.

In 1850, he is attending school, probably in or near Antrim Township in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
