Biography
Jean François Bertrand migrated from France to Acadia.
Jean François was born about 1630 in France. [1]. Since his wife and two of his first children were born in Isle de Re, Aunis (now Charente Maritime), France, he is likely to have been from there as well.
He married Ozanne Chevros around 1650.[2]

He passed away before the census of 1671 (Plaisance). [2]. Since the two youngest children were born in Plaisance and the family was still there in 1671, Plaisance is thought to be the same.
