Biography

Hannah Bird was born on 2 August 1692 to Joseph and Miriam Bird in Dorchester, Massachusetts.[1]

Hannah married John Humphrey on 27 May 1712 in Boston.[2]

  • John Humphrey, b. 10 April 1715
  • Thankful Humphrey, b. 18 November 1717

  • Thomas Humphrey, bp. 6 August 1727

John died intestate in 1732. Letters of administration on the estate of John Humphrey, husbandman, late of Dorchester, were granted to widow Hannah Humphrey, securities Aaron Bird (her brother) and Desire Haws, husbandmen of Dorchester on 15 May 1732.[4]

Hannah married, second, widower Josiah Kingsbury on 11 April 1734.[5]

They lived in Needham.

  • Jonas Kingsbury, b. 1 March 1734/5, d. 29 January 1746[6][7]

Josiah Kingsbury died 20 April 1739.[8]

By his last will dated 14 April 1739, he left to Hannah for the term of her natural life the south east end of his dwelling house, half the chimneys & cellar, and the orchard adjoining the house on the south side with one acre of plow land adjoining to the orchard and also one acre of woodland, and a quarter of the indoor moveables and one cow.[9]

Hannah died 29 January 1748.[7]
