Biography
Elizabeth (Bird) Theobald was a convict after the Third Fleet transported to New South Wales
Eliza Bird was born at County Galway, Ireland in 1811, the daughter of Patrick Bird and Mary Pepper.
Eliza Kilbride wed Robert Theobald in 1838, at the Church of England, at Gunaroo; Gunning or Yass, Colony of New South Wales.[1]
Eliza passed away at Boorowa, Colony of New South Wales, in 1879.[2]
Elizabeth's NSW death registration certificate states she died on Christmas day and 'was not ill apparently'. She died at a property called Castlesteads, at Boorowa NSW.
Research Notes
- I do believe this is convict, Eliza Bird, Kilbride, Spicer, Theobald who was transported in 1834. She and Edward Spicer had a child, Mary Spencer or Spicer born in 1836 in the Parramatta Female Factory, and she then married Robert Theobald in 1838. According to information from granddaughter, Kathleen Margaret Fitzgerald nee Martin b. 1909, d. 1987, daughter of Walter Martin, b. 1880, d.1941, son of Mary Martin nee Spicer, d. 1926, where her parents are listed as John Spencer and Mary Huccle.
