Could the following be the children of Francis 'Frank' Blackstock? Frances Coleman's sister, Anastasia, married James Browning.[2]They had a son, John Daniel, who married Frances White. They could be the couple who Clem, M., and Danl were residing with in the 1870 census.[3] The problem with this is that they did have a daughter, Sarah, but she had older siblings that should have been in the 1870 census, but the age for Sarah is right.[4]

Danl Blackstocks M 9 Alabama [Could he be Daniel J. Blackstock?

Where is John T? He'd be about 16, according to the 1860 census.

It appears he might be living with his aunt, Mary "Polly" (Blackstock) Gaither.

In the early days of the estate settlement for James Blackstock, the heirs of 'Frank' Blackstock [Francis M.] are called minors: John T., Mary A., and Daniel Blacktock.

Since James died in 1870, that must mean Francis was already deceased so the year of his death date is in error. It also explains why his children would be living with different relatives in 1870.[5]

Heirs of James Blackstock [father of John W. and Francis]

Three Children of F M Blackstock deceased, who was a son of Decedent, Namely:

(1) John T. [and?]
(2) Daniel J. Males [and?]
(3) Mary Ann wife of Samuel A. Thomas.
"All over the age of twenty one years, and of sound mind-- All reside in Clay County Alabama except John T. Blackstock Who resides near Cross Plains in Calhoun County, Alabama.[6]

Daniel's last name was Blackstock, not Males, so the reference must be identifying their genders.

Why was Eliza not included as an heir? Was she deceased?
