An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, October 25, 1957:

Mrs. Lee A. Turner, 77, died last Thursday night at her home near Gatesville following a long illness. She had lived here the last eight years, but resided near Killeen most of her life. Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at Scott's Funeral Home, Minister Ira Grantham officiating, and burial was in the Restland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Katrea, Sidney Turner, Jack Turner, Leroy Parker, Fred Turner and 0. S. Stewart. Mrs. Turner, the former Miss Radie Pauline Blackwell, was a native of Coryell County. She had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1910. She and Mr. Turner were married Dec. 17, 1900, and he survives her. Also surviving are four sons, M. C. Turner of Pasadena, C. W. Turner of Gatesville, E. L. Turner of Abilene and E. D. Turner of Pasadena; three daughters, Mrs. Birdie Lain Skorpenske of Houston, Mrs. Eva Mae Parker of Belton and Mrs. Jessie Merle Baker of Temple; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ella Ponder of New Deal.
