Lee A. Turner, retired Gatesville farmer and father of Justice of the Peace C. W. Turner, died Tuesday night in a Belton rest home. He was 81. Funeral services were held at 2 p m. Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel, and burial was in Restland Cemetery. Mr. Turner, a native of Bell County, was married to Miss Radie Pauline Blackwell Dec. 17, 1900. They lived on a farm in Coryell County near Killeen until moving to Gatesville 15 years ago. Mrs. Turner died in 1957. Mr. Turner was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are three sons, C. W. Turner of Gatesville, Elmer Lee Turner of Abilene and Eddie Daniel Turner of Pasadena; three daughters, Mrs. Birdie Laine Skorpenske of Houston, Mrs. Eva Mae Parker of Belton and Mrs. Jessie Merle Sawberger of Temple; a brother, Albert Turner of Abilene; four sisters, Mrs. Dovie Pass of Goldthwaite and Mrs. Lillie Sutton, Mrs. Mattie Casbeer and Mrs. Pearl Phelan, all of Brownwood; 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a son Martin Clifford Turner.
