Research Notes

There is also a death location in Somerset, New Jersey, United States. Both death locations are unsourced.

There is an age warning when trying to save this profile. There is an age discrepancy between John and his brother Daniel Blue. I contacted the profile manager for Daniel on 1 May 2023 regarding the birth and death years for Daniel. Currently, the birth and death dates for him are 1772-1847. Though Daniel's headstone is difficult to read, it looks like he actually died on 30 May 1817. It also says on his headstone that he died at 75 years of age. Making his birth year 1742 and not 1772 which would have been 31 years after his next oldest sibling. The birth year of 1742 makes much more sense. I have not heard back yet about this matter. It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Daniel and another half brother, Michael were indeed born that very late. There was that huge gap between the half siblings and the other children.
Based on information from the National Blue Family Association (www.bluefamily.org), I think Michael Blue (Blue-1216) is the eldest son of John Blau (Blau-251).
