GREENVILLE ADVOCATE OBITUARY BOOK - MABEL L. MILLER SERVICES TODAY
Mrs. Mabel L. Miller, 89, widow of Thomas C. Miller, died 6:50 a.m. Sunday, 12Jun, in Fair Oaks Nursing Wing of Utlaut Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m today (Tuesday) in the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, by the Rev. Frances Michels, with interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller, a census taker in the county many years, was born 17Apr1888 at Dudleyville. Her parents were the late John J. & Catherine (Ulmer) Blizzard. She attended the Dudleyville school & took a business course at Greeville College.
She & Thomas Cobel Miller were married at the home of her parents on 15Oct1908. He died 22Jul1958.
Survivors include a son, Elvin of rural Greenville; daughters, Mrs. John (Kathryn) Gruber of St. Louis & Mrs. Gustave (Inez) Budde of Dixon; sister, Helen Geries of Collinsville; 7 grandchildren; & 13 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Geraldine Myer; sister, Bessie Smith; & brother, Logan Blizzard, have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the First United Methodist Church, designated a memorial by the family, the Bond Co. Home Extension & LaGrange Community Club.
