Mathew was baptised on 25 Nov 1677 at the parish church of All Saints in Rempstone, indicating his birth occurred sometime in the month or so prior. ^[1] He was the daughter of William Blood and Anne Swaineson.

Mathew was not mentioned in his father's will of 12 Aug 1682.
